What is Bridge to 100?
Bridge to 100 is a set of strategic initiatives to expand Eighth Street Community's family-model housing and support network to create independence, community engagement, and empower individual potential for over 100+ adults with intellectual disabilities in the greater Huntsville area through innovative housing and programs over the next 2-3 years.

Year 1 Objective
Add 25-50 New Adults to the Community
Estimated Completion: Summer 2026
Strategic Outcomes

Develop and open the Eighth Street Daycare program for adults with intellectual or developmental disability or acquire brain injury.

Acquire administrative office space which will free up housing for 4-5 additional adults.

Develop and implement a resident Respite Program designed for those families who need safe, secure and comfortable housing for their love one on a short term basis.

Develop and implement the Eighth Street Internship Program designed to develop skills and experience for those seeking a career in supporting adults with intellectual disabilities while also helping combat universal healthcare staffing shortages through training and development.
Technology Infrastructure

New fully integrated website to promote all services, volunteerism, giving, and Bridge to 100 progress.

Acquire a technology outsourcing partner to move Eighth Street to a cloud based infrastructure with modern security protocols and just in time equipment provision.

Implement a new CRM (Customer Relationship Management) to streamline and automate the Eighth Street volunteer and donor programs.

Add adaptive (smart) technology to increase or enhance resident independence while also capturing valuable outcome data to further support our evidence-driven program evolution.

Strategic Outcomes

Build a new Eighth Street Program Center which will serve as a centralized space for art, workshops, music, theatre, teaching kitchens, games, the Eighth Street Daycare Program, and Eighth Street holiday events.

A Huntsville-area program offering community based independent living for adults with mild to moderate intellectual and developmental disabilities. This program will utilize a highly individualized, person-centered approach enabling program participants to live as independently as possible with personalized (unique) care, coaching, and mentoring support.
